While we are on the subject, it would be nice to know who asked for you to close Andrew's Nominated for President thread forums.928oc.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1435 in the other Forum area.

Your last post in that Thread" "This is the 1st time I have had to close a thread or even step in. This thread has left the topic and I have been asked to step in. So ill close the thread ."

I find it interesting and again one-sided that Andrew's thread was closed due to no action/post by him .and yet James's stays open. As an experienced Moderator myself I find this poor judgement, even more so in what should be a a fair election and related to Official Nominee Threads. IF 2 people were being out of line in Andrew's Thread ( I assume Stan and Roger since their posts were deleted) , THEY should be penalized or action taken against them...NOT Andrew' or his Official Nomination thread.

On the outside looking in, it sure looks like any excuse was used to close Andrew's Official Nominee Thread. IMHO, it should be opened again along with an apology to Andrew for closing it.

You guys can call all of these comments "attacks" all you like, but there is a CLEAR pattern of unfair and biased actions going on here by those in "Control",.. and it does damage to the credibility of the 928 Owners Club more and more with each of these actions....and more so than you guys seem to realize,....and from where I am sitting lately,...seem to care.

Cheers,

Dave, don't be too concerned with who or why a request for moderation was sent. Given the divisive nature of these topics I had hoped all 3 of us who are moderators could've acted as a team to decide what to do on Andrew's nomination thread. We dropped the ball because, instead, one mod made a decision for all. It's water under the bridge now but hopefully we've learned from it as it was indeed the first call for moderators action in the history of these forums. Like I said, maybe our judgment on that one wasn't the best but I am confident we won't be so quick to act in the event we are called upon again. Hopefully that at least puts that issue to rest.

If you want the same old out-dated info and dead links, by all means the status quo candidate is James Morrison.

Mclovin,

If someone moves and does not tell anyone they have moved or left a position how are we to know??? I don't have anything to do with the website btw. I am the *MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN*. Your info on Mel is INCORRECT as well. I spoke with him two days ago and he is happily working on GTG's for the FL (mostly north because that is where he lives) area. We also have a Regional Rep for the southern part of FL.

If you think I am a status quo guy, then you have clearly NOT read anything that I have posted and you obviously don't know me from Adam... I understand what is going on with the club and ideas on how to improve the things that need improving. I am open to the ideas of members like yourself as well. Website is one of them. As noted by others the problem is time and volunteers. We have lots of folks who say they "would be happy to help out" and NOTHING ever comes of it. The very small handful of folks who actually keep the club running just can't do it all.

How many things have you volunteered to do for the club Mclovin? Have you contacted anyone and said, "hey, I am ready to do some work to help make the club a better place"? It is easy to sit back and throw stones, it is much more difficult to step up and volunteer to make things better.

AO, you are quite correct that to grow the membership we need to go where 928 owners are... Why do you think I have invited EVERY SINGLE "New to 928's" thread starter to join the club?! I don't spend as much time on RW or Pelican, but when I see those folks there I invite them to come here as well.

DR,

I TOTALLY agree with this. You would NEVER, EVER see this sort of thing in a PCA region! Or, for that matter, ANY other club I have ever been a part of. (BTW, I am NOT saying we need to be like the PCA, but we do need to have a certain level of consistency and will need that even more as we grow.)

I'll try ONE MORE TIME with you too here DR.... I NEED SOME Lloyd Mats carpet help! I have called and left several messages AND emailed you several times to no avail... HELP ME DR, YOUR MY ONLY HOPE! :D

James,

First off I have certainly tried to not make anything I have said directed at you, because it is certainly not. Unfortunately some of your supporters are IMHO acting inappropriately, especially given the positions they hold, and that they represent the 928OC to the public eye. That is of course just my opinion, and obviously their's differ...I do NOT hold against you in any way shape or form.

Your words here and on RL are refreshing to me, so I feel confident no matter how this goes down that some things will be done differently, or at least with a different attitude. Thanks for all you have done and what I have confidence that you will continue to do for the OC no matter what position it is.

Concerning the floor mats, I have replied to you a few times about this, last time was in Andrew's Thread on Rennlist a few posts after your request there...go check, your answer is there and has been....I know your busy and such...LOL

Cheers,

Dave

I myself believe the campaining should have ended when the voting began but Im only one voice and I did propose we adopt a more international system.

there were 4 board members at the recent OCIC in Witchita, Kansas; Mark, Gary, Roger and myself........Andrew was there also. We met and spoke at length........not to worry. :)

Hi Malcolm,

That comment I made was not in reference to all 928OC Officers or representatives. FWIW, I have seen glimmers of hope, your comments give me even more....and FYI, I voted for you yesterday. :-)

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Austin,

Thanks for your comments...but if as you say the "ball was dropped"...it only takes a few clicks to reopen a closed thread...and show that this judgement that "wasn't the best" was made in good faith and nothing more.

BTW, thanks for all the tireless and typically thankless work you do here, I still remember what it was like when I was a Super Mod on a large forum with 250,000+ active members (forum went from 0 to 150,000 plus members in the first year I was there)...the "back room" was always a buzz....and in one night alone I had to P Ban 15+ people...had to regularly defend against large scale organized attacks, and of course all the typical Forum stuff and "personalty conflicts"....what fun..GRRRRRRR...LOL

Cheers,

Dave
