Thanks Dave! I think that thread got shut down over there so I missed it. I am not positive, but I thought the thread was deleted but it might just be closed. I'll go check!

It is my pleasure to serve the club and I have enjoyed it VERY MUCH... Though the past couple of weeks have been a challenge to say the least. There is one thing that is FOR SURE...Stan is rabid in his support and dogged in his approach! I love him for that and would prefer him on my side in a fight for sure.

This is not a fight...this is an election and it is about TWO people. Me and AO... I have been here and I have served this club in two capacities for the better part of TEN YEARS! I have put more hours in and know more about the club and how it works (and where it needs to work better) than just about anyone. I have also PROVEN my abilities to rally people to a cause. If folks can't see that or choose to ignore that, I can't help them.

I totally agree with your idea about the by laws change. If you want to run for President you kind of need to have held another active position in the club, preferably one at the national level. Board Rep, Sec, Treas, VP come to mind. Membership Chair is an appointed position, but it is national and I am just guessing I put in more time working on club business than all the rest of those listed COMBINED! I have spent more than 10 hours on club business (not trolling the forums or answering online questions...ACTUAL club membership business) this week alone!

So, there you have it, I have DONE the hard work and been in the trenches and now am seasoned and ready to be President and have the support of the outgoing President on the web front and other areas and I have a growing team of Membership folks and Regional Reps as well.

That thread is down to like page 7 already! RL is one BUSY forum for sure! I always like to see how many folks are on each forum and most of the time there are more on the 928 one than any of the others! I always thought that was funny!

Anyway, what is wrong with those Lloyd's guys?! They have the color... They make purple THREAD! They even have the crazy neon green/yellow floor mats. I just want them switched!

Do you have any thoughts on the carpet front???

These are example of what you call a positive campaign.
You state "the fix is in" without a shred of evidence, not even a motive.
I want the 928 OC to succeed and any reasonable person would agree that 40% growth in two years is not a path to diverge from without deep thought. You have *not* even bothered to understand what is being done, yet you tell anyone who will listen that you are going to improve it. How can you be confident you can improve that which you are completely ignorant of? This isn't a personal attack, it is *fact*. As you have never asked those who run the club how they do so, there is zero chance you know. Now you may claim you can fix anything, but to willfully *not* ask questions about how the club is run, is indicative of a lack of concern and certainly a lack of intent as well.

So take your slanderous insults elsewhere. You have the audacity to imply I am going to fix an election in a club that nearly certainly would not exist except for my efforts. If what I have done is so trifling, then why do you want to take it on? I know why Andrew, because the 928 OC is already successful, the hard work has been done. Of course you wouldn't know that because you weren't involved.

Another classless remark. What have I done in this election? Two things I think, #1 Point out the false statements by Andrew (ie: no communication, etc.) #2 I have defended myself from attacks when I am not even running.

There would be no elections or nominations, there would be no board, there would be no membership chair. Those are all developments I put in.

You and Leonard Laub asked if I wanted to lead this club. I said I would only do so long enough to run an election where someone could be elected. I have done so *and* solicited other people to be involved. Have you? If so, I don't see them.

It was I that insisted that all voting would be visible to members, so they could review the decisions of the club. I have been doing so for almost all of the 9 years. Andrew says we don't provide any information, because apparently he is too busy posting random comments at Rennlist, but he is sure he can improve on the club without a clue to what it is.

You both make classes and unfounded accusations about my character. Andrew does so at the same time insisting because I referred to his campaign as "hope and change". Read his announcement (nearly identical to what it was two years ago), it is all about "hope" and "change". Keep in mind he never cares to find out what he is changing from.

Sorry, such attacks to me are deplorable, and anyone that supports such unfounded, unwarranted accusations, is some kind of a dog.

Don't you dare imply there is anything wrong in my behavior.

I love it, I am accused of doing some kind of inside deal without any basis. Yet here you have a board member advising that the board met without disclosing to other members they were meeting to talk with a person that some of them want to be president.

Let's think of how this could be right...

If it was a board meeting, why wasn't all the board notified? If it was a board meeting, where are the notes for the members to review?

If it wasn't a board meeting, and some board members discussed with Andrew about being president, then it certainly seems strange for those board members to be questioning why I am surprised since they knew I was working with James. They may want to pretend they didn't know now, but they were told after the first time James suggested it was a consideration perhaps 18 months ago.

Now if it wasn't a board meeting, and Malcolm is advising some decisions, and perhaps board business was discussed, then that would seem to be improper.

Lest anyone question whether the board could have explained to Andrew how the club functions daily, let me assure you the board members do not involve themselves in daily functions. Except for Gary Knox, who could explain his role as treasurer, but it is not a job of daily, but perhaps in general an hour a week. Just the tip of the iceberg of what James and I do.

Certainly you have to wonder about the character of someone who sits on a board, and implies there was an undocumented undisclosed board meeting with Andrew, just a recently renewed member.

P.S. You would think if it were a tight nit group Malcolm might get the spelling of Marc's name correct.

Dave implies my behavior is inappropriate. Lets list the issues here.
1. 2010 I am ready to let Andrew run for president uncontested.
2. I receive pleadings from a number of members, notable Roger Tyson, to run so that Andrew doesn't win.
3. I run a campaign, advising members that I will continue to plod on as I have, and that the time I will put in will not increase.
4. Many volunteers say they want to help, Andrew is among them.
5. After the election, where nobody questioned my moral character, unlike this one. Andrew hightails away.
6. There are no new volunteers except James Morrison.
7. James steps in to take on the role of membership chair, after the one who took the position, essentially abandoned it. We had to chase for weeks to get the applications and club merchandise back
8. James does a magnificent job as membership chair. I continue developing programs at a grassroot level.
9. James says he has received so much from 928s that he wants to give back.
10. I suggest to James he run for president and I will support him.
11. James says he can't at least for another year, but I advise the board I am hopeful.
12. I run another nomination and election process, uncontested without any questions about my moral character.
13. I continue to develop programs and with James functioning as the membership chair membership grows by 40%.
14. We receive no complaints, except the occasional "could you do this", some we can, some we can't, and some we ask if they will help.
15. James agrees to run.
16. James is nominated.
17. The same person who pled with me in 2010 to run against Andrew, nominates Andrew.
18. I am unsure if this is a joke. There is no discussion of board members wanting Andrew. There is no discussion about what Andrew will do. Out of nothing board members who had issues with Andrew in 2010 decide that now he is a good candidate, but for some reason they don't advise all the board, nor the president who has never had a complaint from the board.
19. When the nomination period is closed, and I ask if the nominator of Andrew has confirmed with Andrew that he will run. A standard question asked of all nominators, I am met with a not pleasant response during the following discussion.
20. So people are surprised that I am not in favor of Andrew taking this on, when he has shown no interest, and has been quite critical of something he has never bothered to engage in.
21. Now I find out there was a secret/not-public/not documented meeting by 4 of the board members to discuss with a member about running for president.

The first thought that comes to mind, is what else are you hiding?
The second thought that comes to mind, is the audacity of some people, they are acting in poor behavior and accuse others of the same poor behavior without any factual basis.

On top of this people question *my* moral character.

You really need to work more on your cover story, whatever that is, because this is coming complete apart.

Andrew already let the cat out of the bag. He thinks he is going to have $20k to spend per year, and not have to do anything to keep it coming in.

The members will lose, and that is what drives my passion. With regard to any of those who judge my moral character, well with what I have factually documented above, do I really care, since apparently the moral character you disdain is that which you are involved.
