have you done mains with engine in car

Time for a break... BTW the last time I saw an engine with this design and quality was on a top fuel drag car.
I do recall the front bearing having a pin in it, presumably to keep it from spinning. Definitely ensures it will be put in only one way.
Yes, the engineering of the whole car is really far above most other cars. I always enjoy the fact that parts come off as they went on, even 20+ years later. Not like the mass produced, short term life expectancy parts found in so many other cars.

In the manual for torquing the mains the last step is 55 lb/ft + 4
is the +4 deg, ft/lbs or flats. I hope its lbs.

took me from 9 this morning till 2, done for the day.
Engine comes out in the fall so I will recheck everything then.

The "4" sounds more like pounds than degrees, from the few times I have seen degrees listed, it usually 90', 45', etc. "4" would seem to be an unusually exact number of degrees.
