Nice job of documenting the project, I am sure others will find the information useful.

I would really like to understand the bearing installation as much as possible. I have a stroker motor to assemble (once I get the assembly balanced, long story there) and want to ensure I do so with great care. Of course my motor will be on an engine stand, but seeing your detail will help.

one thing that caught me off guard was the pin/dowel to the front bearing

what made me look for something like that was the hole in the bearing, BTW it go's to the front

see the hole at 1 oclock

Time for a break... BTW the last time I saw an engine with this design and quality was on a top fuel drag car. :-)

Brad,

I'd say it's safe to say by this point that you have the hardest part of this job behind you now. I would be a nervous wreck about sealing that girdle back in and doing it neatly more than anything else. Gosh, I can't wait for you to get it all back together and get it running now. As informative as you've made this thread, I almost feel as anxious as if it were my own car.

In your own estimation, how far off do you think you are from having it back up and on the black top again? :D
