Ok finally got some time to continue to work on the car tonight.
First thing I had to do was to pick up some 1.25 tread pitch bolts to fit in the back of the crank.
Went to the friendly ski-doo/quad shop and bought three 5 inch bolts with 1.25 thread pitch.
I put the cross mount back under the TT
Slid the driveshaft clamp up to the crank Then I threaded one bolt into the top hole of the crank. It treaded in by hand about 3/4 of an inch

Now when the weight goes on that bolt the driveshaft will want to turn and thats a no no because we don't want the crank and the pistons to slide down and be a real $%^&* to push back up
SO..... use a vise grip that wont slip
and when I am ready to remove the final bolts for the girdle, I will clamp it onto the drive shaft so that it wont rotate.
Clamp it against the Bell housing like this
This week end I will see if this works.

Just out of curiosity, why did you put the oil pan back on?
