Thank you for all your help. Everything I have mentioned has been rectified by good advice and or direction from members of this site.
Now....New task at hand. I am getting some water into the hatch area. Looks like it is coming in from the rear wipers. I will replace the rubber bushings and see if that helps. Question.... Were does the water drain from that collect on the spoiler and the notch in the spoiler for the wiper mech on my 1986.5 928?
Any insight would be appreciated.

I think it just drains through, to the bottom of the spoiler. There's notches on each side of the spoiler. One below the wiper arm and one on the right side. When I wash my car the water keeps draining through those weep holes for days it seems. Some times there's leaves or dirt that plugs those up and I stick a toothpick up from the bottom and pull the blockage out.
