OKAY, now I see. I am a very rigid thinker which usually is helpful in troubleshooting. I am also much more familiar with American engines with their log type exhaust manifolds. When the explanation of the operation of the monitoring system stated it watched the temperature of one bank of cylinders, I assumed it meant all four of them. Your last post pointed out it's only monitoring cylinders four and eight. ( it would help if I actually crawled under the car and had a look at the sensors mounting) I'm still not one hundred percent I understand how the system can tell the difference between one temperature sensor and the other when they appear to be wired in series but I'll take your word for it. Sorry to waste all your time on such a basic misunderstanding.
