Why? Porsche doesn't make them, they just slap their name on them and charge you more. I've used Conti on every TB job I've ever done with no problems ever, never heard of anyone post anything bad about them.

I have been using Gates as well with no issues at the present time.I have heard some don't like the Continental belts at all and Greg Brown in California who is a big Porsche race mechanic/engine builder only uses timing belts from Porsche.

I can stretch the Gates, pretty easily, by hand. The Conti definitely seems higher quality. I was unaware that Porsche didn't make their own belt. :confused:

Who does? Perhaps Continental? Porsche has just been the only one I have ever trusted.
