You can pull the heads on anything '87 forward with the engine in the car. They have bolts, not studs. Which means you have the clearance to do so.

I had forgot that detail about the later models. I tell you what. The hardest part may be just getting the darn valve covers off. That was kind of a challenge for me recently on an '85. Of course that car still featured the studs rather than the bolts, so in my case, the engine had to be out. It must be nice to have bolts rather than studs.

I pulled apart a few '86s, at least one with head bolts. I don't know if they went from studs in '85 or '86 to head bolts, or if I just found one (or more) that had been de-studded already.

Well I had planed on pulling it before I even decided on the list in post #11.

There is a broken lifting stud on the Drivers rear, All hoses need to be changed, new wire harness as in post #11 and just a general climb on into the empty engine bay and fix everything that is not 100% plus repaint or protect in what ever way is required.

Then clean and refresh top end, replace all hose clamps with chrome.
I am still waiting for some venders to get back to me about Stainless steel braided (SB)hose (only one of them has hint hint ) I need the fittings for the fuel rails (M-12?) to the SB hose or to JIC

Bought a new crane to pull the engine with.
with this one I have to slide the legs out and stand them in a holder to put it away. Not the folding legs of the more expensive style.
