So are they comparable?

The NOS is much cheaper to get into, correct?
What is the price difference?
How big was your bottle and how long would it last?

I like it for what I use it for, it works great, I am somewhere in the 450 hp range and that is what a 928 needs to IMHO (400 and up :D) to keep up w/ current HP Street cars (it is a real sleeper now).

I activate it and then just drive the car, when the WOT signal is active and the RPM is correct (adjustable range) the N20 and added Fuel start flowing at an adjustable percentage (Liquid boost).

However IMO you got to do it right, and not just dump a 150 shot on the engine.
I do that with a programmable Progressive N2O controller and when the system is active I back out timing.
Rule of thumb for Nitrous is back off 2 degrees of timing per 50 hp shot. I now have a total of -8 degrees using my low octane loop with a switch, and I am also monitoring my AFR and keeping it on the rich side ~ 10.6 – 11.
So I am most likely leaving HP on the table, but the car is very very quick now.

A cheap N20 (two Nitrous and one Oxygen) is not the way to go, they go for 300 to 400 bucks and can be found all over the net for 5.0.
However you want a good $600. system that goes from 75hp to 150 HP and that is capable of flowing 200 HP, they use better Solenoids and Nozzle, I highly recommend Nitrous Express (made in USA).

Then there is the Progressive Controller, another $350. add to that the remote N2O gauge so you can see what is left and if your at peak pressure, which sometimes requires a bottle heater, add $150. and your on your way to consistently spanking some booty !

Figure around $1,500. and your there, a 10 lb bottle will last using a 150 shot, one full minute of WOT (that is a lot on the street) for me about two to three weeks of driving around, after all mostly your only going to use it in first and maybe second (not many seconds used there).

At four-fitty a lb the cost is usually 40 to 45 bucks to fill up, you never completely use up the bottle as the pressure drops off as it get to around 3 lbs, I have two bottles ;)

The up side: it is there only when you want it to be, and not a lot of piping, coolant and belts to adjust.

The down side: It runs out (like AO said) and like anything that runs out it usually happens when you want it :( You also have to watch out in hotter climates and will need to find ways to cool the bottle (over pressure), there are cooling systems available.

Hope this helps, and let me know if you want more, I can post pic’s of my install.

Welcome, Andrew. Thanks for your input, and yes, I will definitely be pulling the engine to complete the work. I could do it with the engine in the car. There's no doubt. Those cam towers require just a touch more patience than I have to offer. Lately, my concern has been more of whether I should replace all the studs or not while I have it out. I've read that they're "stretch studs." I did not know this. Do any of you know whether this is fact or not?

They do stretch, but I believe they are something like $12 per stud, so that adds up real quick. There are many 928 motors that have re-used the head studs/bolts and are just fine. I think the key is that if you use the old studs and follow the WSM proceedure of 20Nm followed by 3, 90* turns to tighten the head, you may get inconsistent torque values. The key is you want about 66ftlbs on them. I'd follow the proceedure and then on the last 90* turn torque to 66ftlbs and be done.
