Euro S Heads

928s are good on the track, and my 1979 Euro track beast always turns heads. It has a "hybrid" motor, a 1985 5-liter block with 1983 Euro heads and intake. The transaxle has also been upgraded to an LSD 1985 5 speed. I kept the original 1978 CIS injection system. The exhaust is MSDS headers into a single 4 inch pipe with a Flowmaster muffler - it sounds as mean as it drives. It has 1987 S4 4-piston Brembo brakes, Koni/Eibach coil overs with a Devek adjustable front sway and 928 Specialist rear sway stiffeners. The interior is all removed and a roll cage is installed.

Euro S heads have bigger valves so there is a performance advantage, and mount to the 5L block without any needed modifications. Euro S cams have a performance advantage as well. Intake and injection can stay the same.

US 5.0L blocks come with 32v heads, intake and injection would need to be adapted or changed. Electronics would also need to change.

Gotcha, so basically it's easier to swap a 5.0 bottom end into an early car than Euro S heads into a late car, is what I'm hearing.

The later cars have 32v motors. I don't think there is any case where the 16v Euro S heads would be an improvement over the various 32v heads out there.
