The  issue is if the Temp II sensor indicates a cold engine when it is actually warm, the ECU "thinks" the engine is cold and will inject too much fuel.

Thanks..Found it.
I'm just going to go ahead and replace the sensor ... it can't cost much.
I could test it I suppose but what the heck,,I'll  just switch the thing out.

Well, Rich..
I replaced the sensor.. it does work and when the car warms the black smoke lessens but it' still WAAAAY too rich burning.
I'm pretty much out of time and options.
