My 1980 Euro "S" has a Bamberg CR radio as shown in the '78 model above it was an optional radio in 1980, option "I351 Porsche car radio, CR sterio, type DE, etc.". 604 of the 1980 cars had this radio.

I thought I'd throw a picture of my 1982 radio on here, just for curios eyes. I think I saw one like mine that had the cassette option.

Thanks for all the replies to this thread.
My research has more or less uncovered that Australia and the UK at least seem to have had their cars delivered without radios from the factory and had local high end radios fitted. See attached a 1979 UK 928 with period correct Pioneer system.
I'm fitting a similarly period correct Pioneer to my car which is likely what would have been installed by the dealer...

Hi Guys
Great information about the radios. I just took delivery of a 1982 928 RHD Aus delivery and it does not have an original radio...
Perhaps my old Becker Grand Prix I took from my old 1983 Mercedes 280TE?? I will try and attach a photo...
But on a more practical basis and I live in the bush...and we will be on Digital Radio soon....is there a modern equivalent that will fit...black of course...
