Hood stuck

Try laying down and looking up to see if you can't see the bottom of the hood latch. If you can, try moving the latch with a long bar or screwdriver.

I have good news I finally got the hood open using a chanellock. Is there any adjustment that I can make to prevent this from happening?

Would mind posting a picture of your metal bracket?

When it broke i had asked a mechanic i took to the car to, to please put something to hold the wire casing in place. they added just regular wire holders along the wire with rubber dampers on them. It didnt do much cause the casing was sliding freely whenever i pulled on the wire. So i took a piece of metal i had at home, i think it was a bracket to put two wood planks together. I folded it by one of the screw holes and cut it there. Then i screwed it tightly to the side. i passed the wire through where the screw hole "was" and bent the ends tight so it would prevent the casing from moving with the wire when pulled. My lever didnt break, thankfully.

Good diagram but it gives a whole new meaning to "pulling your wire"
