Can you tell me if the VIN tell if the car come with auto ou manual transmission ?

I don't believe that there is a code in the VIN to tell you that, but Porsche has the original manufacturing data by VIN. There used to be a Russian site that had those records - no idea if they are still on the web.

There should be a build sticker under the carpet in the hatch area that gives the option codes for the car. The option code for automatic transmission is 249.

Earlier versions of PET (the Porsche parts list) had the car options by VIN, but that has apparently gone away.

Both engine harnesses are compatible with either a manual or auto transmission. You can determine which harness you need from your engine serial number. The serial number is stamped just below M28.xx ..

One example would be 81H00957. If that were the serial number, then you would need engine harness # 92860700214

Tell me what your engine serial number is.

As far as PET goes, it says your VIN has auto trans. Engine M28.42 and trans A28.12. Also LSD.
