thanks alan, i havent done it by the way. my mechanic has the car and is pulling his hairs on it right now.
hoping he can pin point the major issue before long. i'll go the mechanical switch way in the long run, for those times i leave the car stored for an extended period of time.

While the meter is hooked up measuring the current drain, unplug the fan control module on the passenger side of the panel in front of the radiator. If the drain drops, replace the SCRs in the module.

I keep a car in Memphis where I work, a 2001 Subaru Outback. The flat-6 will start if it has been 6 weeks since the last start, but more than that the battery goes flat. I use it typically one day per month, so it somehow always starts, but that is the standard for batteries. If your car cannot go 6 weeks between starts then there is a drain, in my opinion.
