Battery brain? was created by emmanuelli
I was looking for a remote controlled battery kill switch online. As my car has its drain... i saw this product online called BATTERY BRAIN, which can be placed between the battery and the rest of the car. It measures voltage and aside from being activated by BUTTON PRESS, REMOTE it can automatically disconnect when the battery goes below certain voltage. Any of you heard of the product? im tempted to use one for my car, even if i get the drains fixed...

Be easier to find and fix the battery drain.

indeed roger, i suppose it could be a good option for those times i leave the car stored for long periods of time, make it easier to prevent the battery from draining, once its all fixed. i do intend to get the drain fixed, actually in the next few days.

some guys use a battery tender. I believe there is a thread on it.

i had seen that mentioned. i got a battery conditioner, but since the garage is not near me, i feel hard pressed to leave it connected all the time, (i have done so a few times, with good results, but still). so i plan to use it in case the battery drains too far down. my intention was to use the Battery Brain or some other such device to cut the battery off the circuit with less hassle, ie, close the door lock the car and hit the remote to knock the battery off. It could yet be a good theft deterrent, if it works reliably.

Use a battery maintainer and if you like add a manual battery switch too - but extra electronics that can disconnect the battery - likely will do exactly that one day when you don't want it to, and probably won't work some of the time you do want it to...

Don't do it... Once you fix the drain you will see things more clearly...
