Ok so decided to buy the 79….it was really so original and complete could not resist
Vin 9289 2000482 Oak Green w/ Cork interior
Drove it home 50+ miles no issues , It did ht 100 mph by accident.
PO had done a fair amount of mechanical repairs …no leaks from anything
Just starting the cleaning , back to front down to bare metal ….it’s just a thing I always do with new member .
Regards
Frank

Congratulations Frank, you own a piece of Porsche history. I always recommend buying the best Porsche that you can afford, repairs and replacements are always more difficult and expensive than anticipated.

Congratulations! Personally, I think you made the right choice. I like the purity of the earlier cars, and the performance is completely fine. It's not the fastest thing in the world, but who cares?

How's the '79 running, Frank?
I originally owned a '77 with an orange interior. Since 1991 I have owned an '86 but not the S4.
I take it on two "Grand Touring" week-ends each summer, usually down into the Adirondacks around Lake Placid (makes me feel like a movie star growling up and down those mountain roads and staying in nice hotels). There is still some "attitude" from 911 owners but non-Porsche owners always seem to love these 928's and come by to chat.
I know you're an experienced Porsche man and was just wondering how you are finding the change in the driving experience. These 928's are definitely different from their cousins.
Cheers
