2012 928 Owners Club Board Election Results
Stan.Shaw@Excell.Net;11642 wrote: Hi Ed,
If you want some suggestions, I can provide them, or you may prefer to talk with James. Two ideas I have:
1. An event informer. Someone to "chase" event organizers to post their events in the Calendar ( forums.928oc.org/vbulletin/calendar.php ) , and perhaps also in the event discussion forum ( forums.928oc.org/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=12 ).
2. A member mentor coordinator. Someone to assist new members in finding their way to the different offerings we have, events, roadside assistance forum, technical discussion forum, etc.
There are many other ways you could help, and perhaps you have a certain way you would like to help. For the most part, the best way you can help, is identifying a task or tasks that you are willing to carry forward on your own with direction from the president.
Thank you for the offer, whether it is for now, or after James presidency starts
Hmm - good ideas Stan. Let me think some on this, especially the event coordinator. Or some derivation of it.

Excellent.
As the volunteer is the valued resource in this case. The volunteer has a great voice in defining their role. My thought would be that someone could offer to the incoming president, James, that they would handle updates to the event calendar, perhaps soliciting assistance from the event organizers, and also create a topic in an event forum. The event forum could have structured entries, that when displayed in a sort order would show newest to oldest, and include location information in their title. So views could quickly know when the event was taking place and where, then review the event information, perhaps offer to help, etc.
Of course you might have a different idea, an if you are the one putting in the effort, then clearly you should have nullification authority

Those are GREAT ideas...
I was thinking Ed might want to run the "928 Tool Loaner Program" though... Maybe we can talk him in to a couple of hats to wear! Not to many, but a couple!
There is MUCH work that needs to be done. Stan has emailed me with a few that I will need some folks with web/tech experience to help with as well as keeping up with the 928OC banners that we have...
Step on up folks! We are ready to have you pitch in!
If you have great ideas I would love to hear those as well! Be prepared to make them happen though!
Thanks all for the kind messages and emails, I am happy to serve you as long as I can or as long as you like for me to. Thanks to the other board members (new and old) for their kind words of support and new ideas as well!
Even though it is not official yet, we are really getting off to a roaring start! I look forward to sharing more as we move forward!
Very best to you all!

Two different gentlemen, James.
Not sure of how I might be able to help, but I would be very willing to help in any way possible. I would like to be more active in the club now that I have more time to donate. If I could help to initiate any of these new ideas then don't hesitate to let me know, James. Now, more than ever, I would love to see this club advance even more! If we all work hard enough, I believe we can make the 928 relevant for years to come.
Perhaps the 928 has yet to see its best days.

I would like someone to hold the camera straight.
Deb didn't mind the air time we got but she got nervous with the tire squeal at 180

DOH... We do have more than one Ed here don't we?! Sorry guys!!! My bad!
Austin, I think we are in the best days of 928 ownership EVER and I think you are correct that they are just getting better!
If we can make this club more and more vibrant and relevant then we will in fact play an important role in making each 928 day better than the one before it!
