New memeber: crackpotts 1986.5 S in Central Texas

I'm near Austin, Texas (Round Rock). I purchased this triple black beauty from a gentleman named John Donnerberg near Tyler, Texas. Who bought it from someone in west Texas. Currently I'm replacing the fuel lines as it seems it had some ethanol in the system and was eating the original rubber. I've also taken out the aftermarket sound system and am installing a Jensen JHD12 that is a simple bluetooth and radio receiver. I have 3 Alpine amps and a 10" subwoofer that is going in the spare wheel area. 

I have always wanted an all black 928 every since I had a poster of all the Porsche models on my wall when I was a teen. When I went in the navy Dec 13th of 1985, I realized I didn't make enough money for the 928 but promised myself I would get one someday. I was always into VW's, my first being a 74 yellow Superbeetle that was being held together by hopes and prayers while I was in the navy.

It took 50 years, but was finally able to "pull the trigger" on one when I saw one on marketplace at a reasonable price. So far, it drives really nice and solid. I discovered the fuel issue because, when I purchased it, I went to fill it up and about 2 gallons of premium ejected from the back end at the skidplate and, not surprisingly, made my friend and I pucker up. I had a friend follow me whith a trailer, as I drove it home from Tyler, carefully. 

I drove it for a few more times only filling it to about a 1/4 tank as I had a strong feeling it was the fuel sender seal. Whether or not it was indeed ethanol, it was a good idea to change out the fuel hoses. I'm still needing to change out the 3 in the engine bay.
