Mechanic

Hi All,

I am the proud new Owner of a ‘79 5 speed 928 and really excited to learn all about this work of art. We currently reside near the Orlando, FL area and would to find a good mechanic that can assist with various tasks we would like to undertake. New clutch, replacing head cylinder gaskets, rebuilding water and oil pump, etc.
I’ve been reading as much as I can on this fantastic forum and have learned quite a bit.

I own a 1979 928 5-speed and brought it back to life after more than 10 years of storage. I had to go through the fuel system, replace the clutch slave cylinder. Feel free to ask questions.

Interesting, last night I removed the fuel tank and am in the process of cleaning it up. As you can imagine upon doing this I discovered fuel lines that were deteriorating, the tank covering needs replacing and various clamps that need replacing. I will be replacing the clutch once the fuel system has been gone through.

I am now really getting into the project. Any words of wisdom? Where have you found the best place to purchase original parts?
