Removing Hood Insulation Adhesive

Does anyone know the best way to remove the adhesive for the hood insulation. I have removed all the crumbling foam insulation and suspect I will need to remove the old adhesive before I can install a new liner.

Hi,
I used odorless mineral spirits and those green scotch pads, I think.
Here's A link to Dwayne's write-up.

Good luck! It should clean up well. I remember now that using brushes helped too.

Well after trying a number of products to remove the adhesive with no success I decided to just stick the new insulation to the old adhesive. It worked awesome and I don't think there is any chance of it coming off. So if anyone else is replacing their hood foam I would say just remove the old crumbling one with a shop vac and install the new one right over top of the old adhesive. Now on to the next project, brakes.
