Bad luck again, Stan Kolen was no longer at that shop unless there is another with a similar name.
Here is another issue that must've come up at some point before. If the timing belts ages because it is made of nonmetallic materials, even if the car is not driven, all of the remaining timing belts in storage are also old. I have no way of knowing how the belt was stored or how old it is. Has anyone tried to order a belt directly from Germany? And if they are still produced?
I contacted Porsche USA and the classic parts locator specialist was completely unconcerned that the belts at Porsche facilities may be old.

Are you sure you got the right K&R tire service? Stan is working on my car right now there. Here is the contact info:
K&R Tire Service Co.
Address: 2926 Mt Carmel Ave, Glenside, PA 19038
Phone:(215) 885-3831

Regarding belts. Replace them, since they are cheap and certainly a regular maintenance item. Rubber ages and cracks. Roger Tyson of 928srus.com stocks them all.

Good luck-Hoi

I think I called the right place. I'll try again.
Update: I was able to reach Stan, I guess there is another place with a similar name. Stan's the 928 man, thank you.

Do you have the address or his phone number, I’m looking for someone to run some diagnostics on one of my 928s
