Hello all,
I am been handed the duty by my regional Porsche Club of America, Allegheny Region, to inform and invite you to the 2011 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix where Porsche will be the featured marque. We, the Allegheny Region PCA, will also be celebrating our 50th anniversary. so with the festivities, races, and anniversaries there will be much celebration over a 10 day period. My region is hoping to host over 1,000 Porsches and raise $75,000 towards a local charity, the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. Last year (2010) the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix raised over $150,000.
If you don't know anything about the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix or maybe never even heard of it but, it was founded in 1983 with 75 entrants including 14 from Canada and has now grown into the America's largest vintage and the only one that is still run on city streets. The races are held at Schenley Park but the larger bore races are held at a local race course named BeaverRun not far from Downtown Pittsburgh.
If you have attended the PVGP in past years you already know how great of a time it is. I encourage you to invite other Porsche aficionados whether or not they own a 928 to come out and join in the fesitvities.
If you wish to check out the PVGP online you can do so at www.pvgp.org or please contact me (Mike Robinson)
Hope to see you there...

Michael,
That sounds like a VERY COOL event! Good luck and I hope you raise a lot more than $75k!
Keep us all posted!

Every year I have good intentions to attend this event and every year it seems that it sneaks up on me or flies past me and I don't/can't go. Maybe with advanced planning, this will be the year I go and even drive my 928. Porsche being the marque this year will give me even more incentive to be there.
Michael, Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'm not a PCA member but, I would like to get involved if I can.

Hopefully my car will be ready for the PVGP.
I've registered up for the Schenley Park show for the Sat. 23rd. I'll be there with or without the 928, I guess.

Just wanted to say how awesome this event was. I hope to attend more in the future.
Here are some links to the official photographer's site. These are the only events that I attended so you'll see my car in some of the pictures.
July 19th Waterfront Cruise. I was the ONLY 928 there.

July 23rd Porsche show at Schenley park. WOW was it a hot day! But very fun! Only 8 or 9 928's there. Over 400 Porsches total.
