Dash cluster light stays on after key removed was created by 928mac
Before I put the car away this fall I noticed that the battery was going dead.
So when I would put it in the garage I would stick the trickle charger on it thinking that it could possible be a diode leaking in the alternator. (I thought this because it wasn't ever charging as high as it should)
One day when I walked up to go for a drive, before I opened the door I saw the dash cluster information center was on.
Ah Ha! thats what keeps draining the battery.
After a while of checking all switches for off, I put the key in the door and locked it.
The dash went out.
Some times it will come back on after a while but I am not sure if it dose due to a low voltage situation.
I never confirmed any of this yet
Also as a question;
The display is in german.
I don't read german
Any one know how it is set to english
Also ha ha is there a scan tool connection on the 89 928 S4
I have been a GM tech for 18 years
but you still only know what your taught or what you have info on
Thanks to all that leave a reply
Maybe I can help with north american questions

I would suggest reviewing
www.jdsporsche.com/
and
jenniskens.livedsl.nl/diag/Diag.htm
both might have offerings. One of the 928 vendors might sell them in the United Stateds.
The 928 Owners Club has the Jenniskens 928 Diag Tool, and it is lent out to event coordinators when events are held. Maybe a good reason for you to consider organizing an event

Correct, although it is new, the old forum was not too active either. Members are too busy enjoying their 928s perhaps

Ha Ha oh now thats just mean since its winter here and I get to just look at mine each day.
BTW I found the diagrams for the fuse box in the manuals at the link below
My first step so that I can do a parasitic draw test while removing fuses to find the circuit that has the drain, incase there is more then one issue.

A little snow and ice hasn't always stopped me from getting my car out for a spin. No pun intended. I just keep my 28 on country roads and away from other traffic.
