Fuel Pump

forgot to mention the crank position sensor CPS. mine was crumbled and i replaced it. it was a B*%tch to pull it out.

does your Tach bounce when you crank?

The CPS sends a signal to the LH after it detects the engine turning, which in turn fires up the injectors.

If your tach doesnt bounce/move as you crank the engone, then thats where your problem is. if the Tach doesnt move, then your CPS sensor is dead, hence no signal to the LH.

Note, the horn relay is the same part 141.951.253B as used for the LH, EZF and fuel pump relays.

Have you checked the LH Relay XXV, put a jumper between 30 and 87 to see if it will start.  

The fuel pump relay in 1985 - 1986 928s energizes the fuel injectors.  It is turned on by the LH fuel injection module (ground to relay) only when the engine is cranking for start or running.  Double check that this relay is functioning.

The LH fuel injection module requires an RPM signal from the EZF spark module.  Check the circuit between LH connector pin 1 and EZF connector pin 16, if it is an open or shorted to ground circuit repair the circuit.  This same circuit provides the RPM signal to the tachometer, so if it has failed with a short to ground that can cause a no-start condition.

 

If you continue to see no fuel injection pulse, the LH fuel injection module may have failed.  I can test it for you.

 

Ok , I'll let you know. I think it is the flywheel sensor because it crumbled in my hand at the plug.

It is a good idea to replace the flywheel sensor due to age.  However, if you have spark and the engine will run with spray then the RPM sensor is working.

Hello again Rich928. I finally got the flywheel sensor out and yes it was a TOTAL B%&$. When you say check #1 and #16 am i checking voltage? Do I have key on for this?
 I have to put intake runners back on should have done this week. I also have a new temp 2 sensor.
