Steering Shaft Bearing

Steering Shaft Bearing was created by TX81928
Has anyone had to replace the steering shaft bearing at the top of the steering shaft just forward of the steering wheel. I have the new bearing and have the VW433 tool called out in the manual. It is a tight fit. The bearing was $200, and it is very flimsy. Not meant to be pounded on, and I do not want to damage it. It's a thin, brittle piece of metal. Looks like you only get one smack at it. Can't find any good experience or videos on this task. Any ideas? Dry Ice? Heat up shaft? Over thinking it? Let me know what y'all think. Thank you.

If possible I suggest using a deep socket or other metal cylindrical object that makes contact only with the bearing race so no pressure is put on the ball bearings as you tap the bearing in place.

Found a VW433 bearing press tool. Worked like a champ. No more floating Steering wheel
