Help with vacuum leak on 1979

Help with vacuum leak on 1979 was created by ehorniak
I have a 1979 5 speed that has been in mothballs for several years due to various medical problems that prevented me from driving it. When I did try to get it back on the road, I found that it would not hold an idle after warm up and that my power breaks were no longer powered. I suspected that it has a vacuum leak. I am looking for a 928 mechanic in the greater Boston area that would be familiar with the vacuum system on the 928. Any recommendations would e greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed

Ed, I am in Harvard, MA ( although up in Maine during the virus!) Dave Chamberlain ( dchamberland@earthlink.net) is in Billerica and is a 928 specialist. He usually works on the 32v cars but could possible help you.
Auto Sport Engg in Shrewsbury could also help, as they have worked on my from time to time.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the info. I will definitely reach out to Dave next week. I have used Autosport in the past. Lenny is great, but pricey. They used to have a good 928 guy, but he left a while back.
I know how life has changed since COVID, We have our grandkids for three days of Zoom school each week so their parents can work. I live in Littleton. I hope we can meet when this is over.
Thanks and stay safe,
Ed
