1980 928 Gasoline Tank Vent Leak

faint smell of gas from the tank. first time I filled the tank up all the way then turned engine on, gasoline was pouring out the back right under the tank.

Figurer the tank vent line to overflow tank is failed or not connected? And I need to drop the tank

Any tips on dropping the tank? Is my assessment likely correct? Thanks in advance for help

There are two hoses at the fuel tank that can crack with age. I suggest checking these items.


Item 11: Breather Hose for 1980 928.201.194.03
Item 2:0 Generic 250 mm hose

It is very common for the "Y" connector in the fuel vapor recovery system to crack which will yield fuel smells.
