I've got them on my S4. They do protect the bottom of the car, and mine fit as they should. I got mine from a guy that wrecked his 928 before he could install them.
I've never seen the set that Roger sells, so I could not make a comparrison.
I need to raise my front end up about 3/4 of an inch. The PO set the front shocks on the lowest setting. My car will bottom out very easely.

I had them on my 86.5, and they worked well. Got them from Carl at 928Motorports. It was tricky to get them to fit tho - not as easy as an install as advertised. Still, well worth it IMHO, especailly since my car was lowered due to Eibachs.
