The hatch is heavy. I would be turning the key and jerking the hatch up and down lots first.

I'll try that again. Only problem is I have the adjustable wing that keeps poping out. Do you think lubricating key hole help?

NP at least I'm getting some info how to deal with this problem. Any suggestion always helps.

It can't hurt.
I would also climb inside, remove the back cover and watch while someone else tries. you might see what is hanging it up. Take a screw driver with you to pry at the release cam.

I second that suggestion.

I finally got the hatch open using a screw driver prying the plastic cam. I found the upper latch has stress marks. Also the plastic cam does not move. My repair manual does not show how to remove the latch from the alarm wiring. Does anyone have suggestion? Is it normal for the aluminum upper latch to crack? Thanks for all the help. Ariel Trajano
