TT Re-build

I Removed and Rebuilt my TT on Saturday with the help of Dennis S. and Andrew O. I used Constantine's "Super Bearings" I can not say enought about how impressed i was with the quality and improved construction from stock units.

Started about 9:30 TT was out by 12 noon, little over an hour to R & R the bearings thank to Andrew manhandling then TT, with wheels down at 5:30.
It always takes longer to assemble as bolts need to be cleaned and torqed and wires (Ox sensor) needed to be heat shrinked etc..

We used a 2" x 5 ft steel pipe from an old drain to quickly drive out the old bearings using the TT's weight along w/ extra umph from Andrew and me.

Then we marked the new 3" x 5 ft of Schedule-40 PCV as per included instructions and drove the new ones in with a block of wood and a heavy hammer on the PVC to the marks we made on the 3" pipe (we never cut the pipe as we were not lifting the TT).

The instructions said to use the weight of the TT and drop it down on the the PVC but we felt we would have more control if we hammered it in and we did.

Have a few old or new broom sticks handy as they splinter as used to drive the drive shaft out of the old bearings and you will need to cut the ends to keep them flat.

All in all this is a a two person job that can be done in a day.

Look forward to the pictures. I'm trying to get as many real life pictures as possible. I'm tired of paying others to learn about my car. Need lot of pics.
