Extreme Hesitation at Acceleration...

I've been debating pulling the injectors and sending them off for cleaning. I guess I have just refused to believe that was it, since it launches with fury if I stay under the 60% pedal point. I would think clogged injectors would be clogged, through the entire acceleration band.

My gut is that he will find a dried-out vacuum hose elbow, which is leaking or off entirely. I found and replaced almost every one up top, for that same reason. I imagine there are several others under the Intake (which has never been off the car since production).

It really sucks too, because it is a drop-dead gorgeous car. It's one of the very few original Baltic Blue Metallic 928's, sporting a manual transmission. What a real joy to drive, when running properly! I am going through adrenalin withdrawals.

I have also been considering picking up some sort of diagnostic tester, like a Bosch Hammer, or a Durametric Laptop Connection Set. It seems it would have diagnosed the issue most likely. Anyone familiar with such? Is it worth the expense, and does it actually tell you much on a 928? It looks like the real-time readings are N/A on all 928 models, for all these testers.

I'm leaning towards the Durametric "Enthusiast Package", since it will interface with my other cars also. It really isn't that bad priced ($347), if it actually works as described...

I think you want a Sharktuner or perhaps the 928 diag tool.
I would be surprised if any non-specific 928 tool would provide much, if any, information.

Sounds to me like the ignition amps or the coils are crapping out.

Howard Wright gave me an update yesterday afternoon. He cleaned the engine/chassis ground and replaced the left side coil. THE BEAST IS BACK!

Now on to the second and final issue, which is the recent failure of the entire Gauge Pod. All gauges aren't moving off the 0 peg (except for Oil Pressure/Voltmeter), & digital readout LEDs are dead. I am suspecting the ignition switch, which has had a dead spot which I work around, ever since I have owned it.

Am really looking forward to getting it back. Am NOT looking forward to the bill for this repair though!

I think a new switch from 928Rus is around $80.
he advertised liquidating them a month ago so I bought 1.
Check and see if he still has one.
