color codes

Just transferred money into paypal, should be all signed up by the end of the week. Looking forward to being a OC member.

I have been looking for color matched touch up paint for my exterior. I gave the VIN to the Porsche dealer, and the color code he found (A8) did not match up to anything specific.

On the driver side door, there is a sticker with the code "A8" and "Marmograu". The only A8 match I could find was the color "polarsilber", which is likely incorrect.

For the '85 model year, by my eye, it appears to be "Grand Prix White". However, it may be a slight variant and I want to be sure. Hoping to do some touch ups before I spend all day waxing...the car, that is.

Any ideas, fellas? Thanks so much.

You can also do a search for Porsche or 928 paint codes. It is out there on the web and you can see all the codes and the colors for each model year.

There is only one paint code for white on your MY. The code appears on the door jam on a decal close to the striker. Your paint code should be "908." That is "Grand Prix White."
