We get used to silly P-car prices. But every so often you see something really silly.

I pulled my steering wheel to redye the leather (will post in my Owners thread later). The horn pad is actually a 911 piece (91134785901), but the wheel itself is a 928 piece. I'm going to keep the original wheel (not putting on a 930 or aftermarket wheel) but I'm toying with ways to modify the pad. So I looked up what a new one would cost out of curiosity: Atlanta (where I don't buy) has it for $350!! It's just a piece of leather covered foam with a few springs and contacts... Good thing I didn't need a special 'hammer' to remove the wheel!

OUCH! There are about a zillion perfectly good used ones for what $50 probably though... And if you are going to modify it anyway (or cover it with REAL leather) it hardly even matters how it looks so long as it is complete and functional!

I agree Brad - part of the fun is the hunt to do it for less and learn along the way. As a I told a colleague, yesterday, if it wasn't, I just go buy a new Boxster ;)

I agree James - I don't care. It was just curiosity that made me look.
