Today I plan on spending more time on the wiring.

When I get confused or am thinking about the best location, I stop and continue bolting on parts.

I still have to install the Alt, PS pump, Rad, belts, and the lines.

Nuther update.

This one will interest you guys who do your own work.

New member to the group picked up a GTS a few weeks ago. I'd done a PPI and it helped him get it for a pretty good deal. It was towed in today and as I am tearing in to it, it's amazing what some people call quality work.

During the PPI I noticed the belt tracking bad. Caused by either a missing flange washer on the back of the crank gear, or an improperly assembled tensioning arm.



This one is suffering from both.



and it's missing some bolts on the tensioner.



Pretty sad that this work was done by a Porsche shop that has a decent rep in the 911 community. The same place did a torque tube replacement, but didn't bother to change the carrier bearings that were making all the noise, so guess what else gets done while it's here.

Overall, for a fairly low mile GTS, it's got a lot going for it. New owner is enthusiastic about getting it going the way it should.

As for what else, I did an 86.5 intake refresh last weekend (yes, memorial weekend I worked) I think it turned out pretty good. This is how it all looked when I started.





End result with all new stuff underneath.





Oh, I helped a buddy take down a GT engine that was owned by a rennlister/OC member, who I won't name. Besides the sawzall taken to the A/C system, here is another example of his handy work.

Some damn putty smothered all over the old pan gasket to seal it up, and it looks like it was yanked down to make room for that, and busted this free.



It was found wedged between the oil pick up and the pan. With the amount of track time this car has had with its new owner, he's feeling pretty blessed that there was no damage.

Damn, just saw that it has been 1.5 months since I've updated this.

At tonights count, I've had 12 928's in and out since June 1st and have to say that the past month has been just slammed and am booked until mod Aug with appointments. The majority of it has been the major stuff on our cars, timing belts, top ends, motor mount jobs and with the heat we are having in Tx, A/C jobs.

I did take a Saturday off and worked on a buddies plane, it needed A/C work.

Not what you want to find when you pull a resistor pack, had two of these in two weeks like this.



Not the typical HVAC Head unit fault. This was fun to find.



Notice this air filter is pretty clean, as in really new.



The same shit was found inside the evaporator.

Current receipts for this jewel are sitting above $13k in the last three years. 1982 with factory sports seats, non S package outside. Special order.



I've got a nice Pearlglanz car in now, and will post pictures when I get her done. Got 30k miles on her, and still smells like a new car. Getting it ready to go to her new home in New York this weekend.

Here is a teaser shot. The paint job in 1987 was a special order at $15k.
