Do you customize your 928 with sporty stuff?

As a relative new comer to this - my 928 is a 1980 barn find that needs a lot of work. I have no choice but to repaint. I don't like the current gold colour and would like to change it. Does that kind of modification really deminish the value of the car?

Like the earlier posts, it is really what you plan for the car,,, if it is for resale, I would buff out or respray the original color. If you hate it and want to enjoy your ride, then certainly change it one of 2 ways. A simple respray not changing engine bay etc. so the next person could change it back a little easier. OR pull everything apart and really completely change the color everywhere. The 2nd option can be very expensive depending of whether you take it apart or not. So really it is what you want out of your purchase. My paint was a respray to a different color by the previous owner. I do not like the original paint either so if I paint it I will keep the color different, because I like what I like

It's not a kit, it's a one off build & driven by the owner. It's his daily driver when the snow isn't flying. He was out doing a spring shakedown in it last week.

It's your car, modify it however you want regardless of future values. "Saving" a car for the next guy is like buying your ex-wife a boob job.
