Exhaust tips and shield painting was created by WyattsRide
My exhaust tips and shield are a little rough. Would like to paint them so they look better. Do I need to use high temp paint?

Well not really but the better you clean them the better it will stick, and if you want black you can use high temp bbq spray bomb.

They were probably anodized originally and yes you can take them off if the bolts are not to rusted in to place.

I would follow Brad's product suggestion since it is recommended for high temps. Before applying any kind of paint, rough it up real well with a scuff pad and clean the parts off good with hot water and Simple Green or something similar. Spray a little adhesion promoter on the parts and then paint them with whatever you desire. Bulldog is a readily available adhesion promoter. O'Reilly stocks it. The other parts stores probably do as well.

Thanks all.
I've been spraying the bolts with PB Blaster for a couple days now. I hope by tomorrow it will penetrate good enough so they can be removed easily.
Now I'm not sure what would look better. Satin, flat or gloss black?
