Hi All:

As i posted on another thread (selling rims) im in currently looking for options for a wheels update to my car. One of the vendors was kind enough to muck up a pic for me. Its my actual car, just the were photoshopped into it.

I was gonna give you crap about asking for bicycle wheels on a 928 forum, but decided I'd help instead! :)

The flat dish wheels from what I remember are relatively light. I would look at getting something like a CLW takeoff/replica set, or some Carrera IIIs. They make these cars look so much better honestly, and it's still a P-car wheel. If you look at my thread in the members rides section you'll see my CLWs on my '86. I run 225/295 respectively.

Of course, you could contact CCW or Fikse for some BIG money custom wheels. But, I have a feeling that you, like most of us, have a budget to try sticking to. In this instance if you want a nice looking, relatively readily available 18" wheel that will take YEARS off the look of your 928. Try the two I mentioned.

Just my recollection, but I think the flat slotted wheels are 20+ pounds, perhaps 22 or 23 if I have found the right memory cells.

Low 20's isn't TOO bad, but when you can 18" wheels that light, I suppose they're kinda heavy for what they are.

Is there a "928 Weights/Measurements" sort of thing we could sticky?

-EDIT - Just remembered there were the "Tech Spec" books Andrew hosted in the Technical Tips section...

www.944racing.de/wheelweights.php

Looks like 8.4kg (18.5 lbs) for the 7" fronts and 9.1kg (20.1 lbs)for the 8" rears.
