Hmm... Never stop at a used car dealer

I was going thru a local town recently and saw a 928S for sale in a used car lot, so of course I had to stop. An interesting car - a 1985 Euro. In fact it apparently was in Japan at one point. The thing that caught my eye was the odometer - 52,000 km! About 30,000 miles. It looks genuine as the trip meter is not at 000.

The car looks like it sat for a while and they've replaced relays and a window switch. The console side panels are dropped and the passenger footwell tray is in the hatch. And he wants way too much for it - but has had it for 3 months...

Gold with chocolate interior, with cloth inserts that are brown with pinstripes. Dash and pod with smallish cracks, but no distortion.

I was short of time, so didn't pop the hood, get the VIN, take it for a drive, etc. But doubtless I will if it stays there much longer...

Maybe James wants one like this for his collection that he plans to start in Canada

Those panels remained standard in Euros of that age unless they had an optional upgraded stereo - another 'mark' of authenticity.

But I agree, it'll be a hard sell.
