Well, after finally getting the new starter on, I decided to drive it to work with my son-in-law......little did I know I would get hit by a piece of ROOF!.

Yes a 14x14 or larger roofing tile flew off a shed on a flatbed going the opposite way and hit dead center of my windshield. It hit completely flat and so the force was spread out, otherwise could have been much worse. This car is a TANK.....anyway, the window has these Hurricane like cracks around the center which is not cracked. Smashed up a wiper blade and part of the other one. Luckily it hit low on the windshield which had added strength. Window does not leak and the cracks have not spread anymore. Good frame ! :)

No - did not catch him, 2 lane road, no where to turn, traffic,,,etc. But great insurance company, 50.00 deductible and there is a very good shop I have used in the past. I asked them to get the OEM glass....not cheap stuff. I had Sigler on the front (original I think) and I have Sekurit on the others. I know my Ins will pay for OEM. I am getting a hood paint job out of it as well. Too bad it was not all over because I would have changed the color.

All in all it was pretty wild, but really I am not too upset. My other 2 cars are less than 1 year old and 1.5 yr old. And those windshields would have probably cracked through.

I actually remained pretty clam all things considered. It could have been worse and luckily my son-in-law was unharmed as well as myself. Yes those things should be shrink-wrapped, too many things fall off of short-haul flatbeds...

Will let you know how it turns out next week, taking it in Monday. I won't get OEM glass, but the guy promises it will look the same.....I will dangle getting a paint job from them later... HA
