Reminds me of a 928 driver

I am watching Apollo 13 the movie with tom hanks

I just realized the kind of balls and ego you would need, to think you can strap a rocket to your ass and actually fly it.

Well they did it . . . . .

It kind of reminds me, and makes me think about when I have been doing 260 in the 928. maybe balls but more then likely efin insane.

I can only have respect for those that broke the space frontier for us.

I guess in a way, ... we are doing the same with the 928.

Yes, you did and I think that is pretty close, the wiring in a 928 is probably more complex than the Apollo 13 rocket anyway! We are a little down on power by comparison however! LOL!

Well in every project, NASA or 928, you have to have a goal.

I am 40 kph short of my 300 kph goal
I have two mechanical limitations that I need to rectify
1 would be enough HP to get there
the 2nd will be how to keep the engine together at that RPM

I need to do more torque convertor research and see if a lock is possible to lower RPM

This is all still in the thought process because I have not checked any numbers

You don't think you have enough HP to get to 186? Really? Aren't you going to be pushing 450 with that set up you have? The problem will be redline and gearing. With a 2.20 rear end you are not going to get there unless you rev past red line... I think the car will carry you there if you spin an extra 1k above redline and with 450HP I think you can do that...

I think they ran the 5spd 2.20 record setting car to redline in 5th to get 171... I could be wrong, but that is the impression I had.

Thanks James I wanted some opinions.
As far as power goes i do not think I am that much over 350.
I am sure I can get to 270k but I hate when the car/engine has to work to get there.
A little NOS would give the power but I was concerned about spinning it to hard and spinning a bearing in the process.
If it would have to go to 7500 rpm as you say, then the stock gearing will not be good enough which is what I suspected
