1990 S4 Auto Transmission Rebuild $$

Does anybody know the approximate cost to rebuild an auto transmission on a 1990 S4 with PSD? Including the torque converter, if applicable?

I'm sorry I can not help you. Maybe one of the others have sent a trans out for rebuild but the year and the shop and the location will all be a factor.

maybe if you had your area in your post someone might be able to tell you of a shop that you can call.

Stan, I would say you are close but you need to ADD shipping BOTH WAYS to that! It won't be likely to get done right locally! There are only a handful of places that should touch 928 and Mercedes auto tranny's and if you live close to one count yourself lucky. Otherwise get ready to spend another $1k in shipping! Normally it is cheaper to buy a fully functional used one from 928 International!

Thats what I was going to suggest James, that its better to get one off of Mark at 928 International

I have a PSD '90 tranny in my race car from him and an '87 in my '88 now. The '87 tranny seems to be an ROW as the car is turning higher rpm at 60mph than it had been and accelerates MUCH harder now! LOVE IT!
