radiator

The Porsche was overheating when the temperature got around 105 and above here in Tucson while running the air. A check with a heatsensor found there was a blockage in the lower half of radiator. I was told by a mechanic that there was nothing that could be done. Best to get new one, which I did to the tune of $1,000. Having time on my hands I took the old radiator to a repair shop and was told they would give it a try for $100 with no guarantee. If they were successfull they would give it an operational check and certify it good. Botom line is if anybody needs a radiator I'd invest the $100 and see if it can be repaired and try to retrieve some of my money back.

Hey Pat, could you put your year of car in your signature like mine and then knowone will need to ask.
It would also be a good idea to have a picture of both sides of the rad so people no what they are getting.

Thanks for the input. It's an 81 manual trans. If I remember correctly when I was ordering the new radiator from 928 International the salesperson I was ordering from told me it didn't matter about the trans auto or manual and year made no difference on radiators.

Thanks Pat, that is something I did not know, even though it may depend on who made the rad.
