Good Morning 928 owners July 14th

Good morning everyone, I'm going to let you in on one of my dreams.

I have always wanted to live in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
To move there I would have to sell everything but I would like to ship the 928 down and was wondering if anyone has shipped a 928,
and what would the cost and legalities be?
I would more then likely drive it to Texas and have it sent from there.

Like I said this is a dream and I am still looking at properties, and am planning a trip for 3 weeks next year to see if we could handle the culture change,
after all, down there its just party, party, partaa.

The average income is $150-$200 a month so we could live like kings for $12,000 a year.

The idea is neat. Heath care should equal ours soon (us lowering to their level)... Great place to live and enjoy.

My guess is safer then new york
hard to carry a gun on a nude beach, then again

Major culture shock compared to northern Alberta. If they can hide a handgun at a nude beach not shure that I would want to live there. Also need a place for your keys and wallet:D

How is your Portuguese? You will need it! There are the Haves (and have a LOT) and the have nots in Brazil... Not a whole lot of middle ground as I understand it. Tons of poverty and strife (like you can't even FIND in the US or Canada)... you will have enough money you won't have to see that though.

No idea on shipping on importation there...or even being able to get a "green card" to live there long term for someone from Canada...

I have been talking to a lawyer from down there that has been sending me all kinds of info.
He seems to be concerned that we understand these things you guys have been talking about.
I am told that the second language is english and that most all of the medical system and quite a few people speak english as well.

The real-estate company has offered for us to come stay at any of the properties $35/day gets us a guild who stays with us the entire time,
and food and drinks for as long as it takes to get to know the place, or buy something
A green card is $100 but may be waved with the sale of a house.
He also said that the country will give citizenship for a donation, such as buying a house or a vehicle.

If you look around the link I posted, some of these things are mentioned.

When I was single, (2 years ago) he recommended joining the gentlemen's club, where you pick a lady or two who are yours for 24 hr, $20 each woman.
The reason was to stop the Prostitutes from trying to lead you off and getting mugged.
They really try to stop tourist crime and have a separate police to look after any problems.

Deb and I are going to take a few weeks and spend the $35 a day and holiday down there to make sure that it is what we would want.
If so, ILL retire early, if the numbers crunch out in our favor
