My GTS Featured in Hemmings Sport Exotic

Hello all ... I can now tell you that the July 2011 issue of Hemmings Sport & Exotic magazine features my 1993 Porsche 928 GTS on the cover, and there is a 6 page article about it. Gary Knox has seen the article ... I haven't as the promised magazines haven't been delivered yet.

Hemmings contacted me in March, said they'd seen my GTS on a website and asked if they could feature my GTS in their magazine. It took a bit of thinking, what website? Oh, the one that I put up after the 2000 928 Owners Club OCIC where I took 2nd place in the concours ... and promptly forgot about. Well, the photos are still out there in cyberspace and caught their eye.

At first I didn't know if it was a scam, but after getting the forms to sign my likeness, GTS title (no, not really) to Hemmings, I figured it was legit.

Jeff, the west cost associate editor is a very skilled photographer and knows much about cars in general, but wasn't too familiar with the 928. He liked the idea of featuring a ONE OWNER Porsche 928 GTS. I spent a lot of time filling him in on the facts and history of the car and sent him some background information so he could accurately tell the story.

It is a real honor to help represent the best of the 928 to many who know little about our passion!

It should be on the news stands now, and can be ordered from their customer service department at 800-227-4373 .

I'm going to try to pick up a copy this weekend. If not, I'll call that number and order one. I'm looking forward to the read.

One thing that we can do to help increase the focus on the 928 is to let the editor of Hemmings Sport & Exotic Car magazine know that you liked the article on the 928 GTS and would like to see more written about these cars. Reader interest helps drive future article development.

Certainly if you don't already subscribe, buying the July 2011 edition will also let them know there is interest.
