Pittsburgh Gathering July 21st was created by linderpat
Hi Folks - we are looking to stir up interest and get the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) get together back on track. It is a great weekend of all things cars, and a 928 Owner's Club sponsored event (Rick - Wyattsride - got us some goodies to hand out
).
I have missed this gathering since moving to Montana, but now that I am back home, I'd love to see this become a more significant event for this region. Sorry for the lateness in getting this message out - it is taxing to move and switch jobs But let's not pass up the chance to resume this fun GTG again. Here's the link with some pictures from the last one in 2008 - forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/928-forum...-gathering-pics.html .
So, now is the time to register for the PVGP 928 get together in Pittsburgh. It is coming up weekend after this, July 21st and 22d. To register, go the the Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America website and download the registration form. Follow the instructions posted there (website is arpca.com/ ; and the registration details are at: www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...B0835C03C1D56A ). DO NOT REGISTER DIRECTLY WITH THE PVGP.
The cost is - $75 (which includes a lunch and refreshments for 2 with a portion of that amount going to the PVGP for the charity). Bring your own cooler (which may include beer or wine from what I have seen in past years ). In addition, the 928OC has supplied some give-aways for our group. This event is sponsored by the 928 Owner's Club.
Rick and I will get there around 9:00 am or so on Saturday morning (the 21st), and start the line - look for the 928 OC banner. Cars roll in thru the morning, but there may be a bit of a traffic jam if you come after 11 am. We park on the grass on the golf course. Go to the PVGP site to download a map of the layout ( www.pvgp.org/ ). There will be thousands of cars, so look for the Porsche group. Anyway, we'll line up so that we can get cool pics of the cars.
We can also do a get together for a bite to eat afterwards, if there is interest. For sure next year, we'll make this a bigger event, with a scheduled fun run.
Well, I think that's it for now. Call me (412-328-4740) or shoot me an email if you have any questions - can't wait to see the gang and the cars!

Another fun filled PVGP.
Had a pretty good turnout - Rick (WyattsRide) in his sweet black 85; Dean (Deantec) in his sweet mossgreen 85; Rick S in his white supercharged 84; Jason in his red 80; Ron in his gold 83; Charles in his spectacular red 95 5 speed GTS; and Sean (Rol607) in his sweet baltic blue 90 Gt - and first place finisher in the class for the concour! Congrats Sean!
I got a 3d place in the concour with the Bluemaxx.
Pics on rennlist and Reutterwerk. I'll try to post some here, and maybe Rick (WyattsRide)can post some too. Rick had some nice goodies for us from the 928OC - thanks folks!

I had a great time today with all my 928 friends! The weather was pretty good. Overcast and no rain. Here's some pics.
If you look close you can see our row of 928s.
THE SHARK WRANGLERS!
(L-R) Ed, Rick, Rick (me), Dean and Sean.

Thanks so much for the 928OC merchandise. Everyone really loved them and I hope I sparked some interest in others to join 928OC.
