Shark Frenzy III - Special Bulletin (updated September 28, 1999)
Leonard Laub
I'm just back from "Shark Frenzy III", the 1999 edition of Ed Ruiz' 928 extravaganza. There will be a lot of coverage of this event coming in 928 Journal (photos and text submissions are welcome from everyone), but here is a quick look at the spectacular array of cars that appeared.
The array of 928s seen head on. At front center is the Devek "White Car", driven by Susan Kirby.
Pete Loedding, some of whose photos you see here, took on the project of making sure that this year's Frenzy was properly commemorated in photos (the previous gatherings have not fared so well) and organized a terrific location and an arrangement that would work for almost any number of cars.
Looking down on the array from the roof next door; 62 very well-behaved sharks.
The latter turned out to be vital, as 62 cars arrived at the shoot (two more were on lifts back at Auto Sportsystems Group, who hosted the event; we had 64 sharks in total!). Shots were taken both from the top floor of the parking structure and the roof of the neighboring building.
